Visiting Professor Program - International Academic Collaboration
The Visiting Professor Program promotes academic collaboration, joint research, and knowledge transfer at STEKOM University. The Visiting Professor appointment at STEKOM University is part of our commitment to expanding international academic networks, enhancing the quality of higher education, and strengthening cross-institutional research collaboration. Appointments are given to professional academics/researchers who hold full-time positions at their home institutions with a commitment to return after the assignment, including those on sabbatical leave for collaborative research, guest lectures, or other academic activities at STEKOM.

Application Process
Applications are submitted by STEKOM lecturers through the Department Head and Dean to the University Office. All documents must be combined into one PDF file in the required order, then sent to [email protected].
Complete all documents for faster approval. Use clear file naming (e.g.: CandidateName_VisitingProfessor_STEKOM.pdf).
Domestic Scheme
Visiting Professors from Indonesia do not require work permits. The process is complete after the approval letter is issued.
Required Documents:
Application Form
Official Visiting Professor application form (Word), fully completed and signed according to requirements.
Complete CV
Current curriculum vitae including publications, teaching experience, awards, and professional activities.
Invitation Letter
Letter from hosting STEKOM faculty summarizing activities, reason for visit, and honorarium details.
Approval Result: After approval by the Rectorate & Faculty Relations, the approval letter will be sent to the Department/Faculty. No work permit is required for the domestic scheme.
International Scheme
Visiting Professors from abroad must go through immigration and work permit processes in accordance with applicable regulations.

- 5Proof of funding: sponsor letter or bank statement (if self-funded)
- 6Support letter from home institution: leave permission, commitment to return; if still receiving salary, include statement & monthly salary details
Immigration Note: Processing time varies depending on country and number of applications. Include appointment duration (e.g. 6 months/1 year) and realistic start date in the invitation letter.
Post-Approval Steps
Approval Letter
Faculty Relations issues the approval letter and forwards the complete package to the Department/Faculty.
Immigration Documents
Director of Academic Recruitment & Immigration prepares immigration processes and requirements (including compliance fees). Estimate: 7-10 business days.
Legal & Offer
Legal counsel issues acknowledgment letter, job offer, and official application completion instructions for the candidate.
Appointment Letter
Rectorate & Faculty Relations forwards a copy of the Appointment Letter (to be uploaded as 'Employment Contract').
Travel Restrictions
Do not book tickets or make travel plans until all immigration documents are approved.
Upon Arrival at STEKOM
Supervisor ensures the visiting professor scans & submits a copy of the work permit to the International Office.
