Office of International Affairs

One step closer to the future

Activity

On November 12, 2020, we joyfully celebrated the opening of the International Office (OIA). The ceremony was held at the rectorate office of STEKOM University, and we are grateful to the distinguished guests who participated. We were honored to have the Rector and the Head of the OIA Division deliver thoughtful speeches. The OIA has benefited greatly from the assistance and support offered by staff from other divisions, and of course, from our students who feel very enthusiastic, both local and foreign.

The OIA will stand as an office that can serve students from all over the world and provide useful information for local students who wish to study abroad. To carry out our mission of improving international cooperation between partner universities and recruiting international students from all over the world, we will improve our international recognition and reputation by promoting STEKOM University at various events.

International Affairs Office - 2023

Internationalization

Internationalization is a key strategy for the sustainable development of STEKOM University in the future. The university will build a campus environment conducive to international exchange, broaden the international vision of all teachers and students, increase the overall competitiveness of the school, and continue to face the challenges of globalization with an innovative and positive attitude. The university will expand the service capacity of international academic cooperation, gradually improve the international outlook and visibility of lecturers and students in a friendly and international campus environment, and expand cooperation channels for lecturers and opportunities for students to pursue higher education and employment from Indonesia to the world. Encouraging students to actively participate in overseas exchanges and building our students' ability to connect with international standards has been the focus of our school's internationalization work in recent years.

Implementation Direction

The implementation direction of our school's International Office (OIA) is primarily divided into five main axes:

  • 1
    International Strategic Cooperation
  • 2
Encouraging Students to Go Abroad for Student Exchange
  • 3
Participation and Organization of Short-Term Study Activities Abroad
  • 4
    International Student Care
  • 5
    Improvement of Campus International Atmosphere

International Strategic Cooperation

In terms of international strategic cooperation, we are searching for strategic sister schools, signing contracts, and launching substantive cooperation. We no longer pursue quantity by maximizing the number of sister school agreements. Instead, we look at which school alliances allow students and teachers to obtain the greatest benefits in cooperating with each other. To this end, we have studied tuition policies across continents and countries, the characteristic fields of each school, as well as their performance and rankings, to select suitable potential partner schools.

Student Exchange

Students go to foreign sister schools for exchange not only to make friends from various countries but also to broaden their knowledge and horizons. OIA has encouraged students to participate in overseas exchanges through various channels. For STEKOM University, every student who goes abroad for exchange or training is a seed of hope. Through the planting, germination, and growth of these seeds, students can bring back the experience of studying abroad to the school and share it with others. Students share with each other, set good examples, and transmit experiences.
