The international webinar "culture exchange" held by STEKOM University on the second day continues. Speakers from various universities around the world take turns giving interesting explanations about the traditions or cuisines of their respective countries. Various interesting things continue to be presented from various speakers who get the opportunity. The next interesting speaker was a beautiful girl from Kazakhstan. The speaker from Kazakhstan was Madina Kozhabaluan, who used the title of Kazakh pop culture in her presentation.


However, before going further into the presentation of pop culture in Kazakhstan, it's a good idea to first understand general things about the country of Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan, officially the Republic of Kazakhstan, is a transcontinental country with most of its territory in Central Asia and a small part in Eastern Europe. Kazakhstan stretches from the Altai Mountains in the east, to the Caspian Sea in the west, making it the 9th largest country in the world and the 2nd largest of the former Soviet Union countries after Russia. Kazakhstan is often referred to as the "Virgin Land", because some areas of the country do not have any at all. most of the territory of Kazakhstan is directly connected to Russia, especially to the north and west. In the east, directly with China (with the Xinjiang autonomous region). To the south with Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and the Caspian Sea. There are many Russians living in Kazakhstan. The launch site for Russia's space rocket, Baikonur, is located in Kazakhstan.


Kazakhstan proclaimed its independence on December 16, 1991. The Kazakh people are the largest ethnic group that occupies the territory of Kazakhstan and are descendants of the Turkic and Mongol tribes. At the beginning of the XVIII century, Kazakhstan was ruled by Russia. In the nineteenth century, together with the region in Central Asia, Kazakhstan's religious tolerance was 70.2% of the total Muslim, 26.6% Christian, 0.1% Buddhist, 0.2% mostly Jewish, and 2.8% Atheist, while 0 .5% chose not to answer, possibly a mix of Russian or European Christians.


When the communist revolution won in Russia and the Soviet Union was founded, since 1920, Kazakhstan has been one of the 15 countries that joined the Soviet Union. Along with the dissolution of the Soviet Union, Kazakhstan became independent and became a republic. This country has the advantage of geographically because it is located between Central Asia and Eastern Europe, so geopolitically it needs to be taken into account.

Kazakhstan with Russia to the north, China to the east, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan to the south, and to the west the Caspian Sea and Russia. most of the territory of Kazakhstan is geographically located in the southwestern part of the Asian continent, and a small part of its territory is on the European continent.


Kazakhstan's area is 2,717,300 sq km which is the largest country in Central Asia, and the second largest after Russia among the Soviet Union countries. The plains of Kazakhstan are dominated by deserts and grasslands, although what is the boundary of Kazakhstan's territory in the East and South is the mountains.


Kazakhstan is one of two landlocked countries in the world that has territory between two continents (the other being Azerbaijan). With an area of ​​2,700,000 square kilometers (1,000,000 sq mi), equivalent in size to Western Europe, Kazakhstan is the ninth-largest and largest confined country in the world.


The country has 6,846 kilometers (4,254 miles) of borders with Russia, 2,203 kilometers (1,369 miles) with Uzbekistan, 1,533 kilometers (953 miles) with China, 1,051 kilometers (653 miles) with Kyrgyzstan and 379 kilometers (235 miles) with Turkmenistan. The largest cities there are Nur Sultan, Almaty, Karagandy, Shymkent, Atyrau and Oskemen. The country is located between latitudes 40 degrees and 56 degrees N, and longitudes 46 degrees and 88 degrees East. In Kazakhstan lies the Charyn gorge, this gorge is located in Almaty, southeastern Kazakhstan in the north of the Tian Shan mountains. This 80 km long canyon was formed due to erosion of the Charyn river.


In Madina's explanation, Kazakh film and music have grown immensely. Many types of films have sprung up in Kazakhstan. Music in Kazakhstan is also the same, many famous Kazakh singer artists appear and often appear in various media.


In her presentation, Madina explained about theater in Kazakh. In her explanation Madina states under "The theater group Kahas repeatedly performed on theater stages in places far and near abroad. Theatre comes from the Greek "theatron" which means a venue or theater. Where "theatron" is formed from the word "theaomai" which means to see. So The beginning of the theater is defined as a building where you can watch performances.In its development, theater is broadly defined as anything that is performed in front of a large crowd.
