Vocational education is higher education that supports the mastery of certain applied skills, including Diploma education programs (diploma 1, diploma 2, diploma 3 and diploma 4) which are equivalent to academic education programs. Diploma 4 education is equivalent to literature education 1 with vocational education graduates will get a vocational degree. This type of education is somewhat different from academic education which focuses on knowledge, but the focus is more on skills.

The Advanced Indonesian Vocational Teacher Association (IGVIM) / Advanced Indonesian Vocational Teacher Association (AIVTA) is a Social Teacher Professional Organization. Its Existence Specially Handles Problems in the Field of Vocational Education. IGVIM Accelerates Government Programs Through the Directorate General/DG Vocational. Realizing the Revitalization of Vocational High Schools as stated in the Presidential Instruction (Inpres) No. 9 of 2016. Partners are Critical of the Vocational Education Government Policies.
