Academics from Indonesia explain about entrepreneurship in an international webinar. Entrepreneurship is a process of applying innovation and creativity in creating something that is different and has value and the ability to face life's challenges by seeing opportunities from various risks and uncertainties in order to achieve profit and growth.

The term entrepreneurship comes from English which is absorbed from French, namely entreprende which means adventurer, creator and business manager. While an entrepreneur is someone who organizes and bears the risk of a business or venture. Entrepreneurship is everything related to the attitudes, actions and processes carried out by entrepreneurs in starting, running and developing their businesses.

Entrepreneurship is the ability to think creatively and behave innovatively which is used as a basis, resource, driving force, strategic goals, tips and processes in facing life's challenges.

According to Frinces (2004), entrepreneurship is a form of business to create value through recognition of business opportunities, risk-taking management according to existing opportunities and through communication and management skills to mobilize the human, financial and resources needed for a project to succeed.

Entrepreneurship is basically the spirit, attitude, behavior and ability of a person in handling businesses and or activities that lead to efforts to find, create, apply new ways of working, technology and products by increasing efficiency in order to provide better service and obtain maximum profits.

Entrepreneurs find opportunities when they look for them in existing markets. This means they observe technological, economic or social trends. Recognizing opportunities is a cognitive process. It relies on people's ability to recognize patterns and connect the dots.

Entrepreneurs create opportunities when they engage with others in bouncing ideas back and forth, and each time get more specific about what users need and how it will be accomplished. Creating opportunities is a social process. It relies on the entrepreneur's ability to interact.

Entrepreneurs should also be results oriented. Result orientation is a term used to describe someone who is focused on results and achieving them. This is an essential skill in many professions. For this reason, employers look for results-oriented employees. The ideal candidate is proactive, persistent, results-oriented and seeks solutions to problems that affect their performance.

In the presenter's explanation, an entrepreneur should be detailed and perfectionist. Perfectionism is a double-edged sword. On the one hand, it can motivate you to perform at a high level and deliver high quality work. On the other hand, it can cause unnecessary anxiety and slow you down. How can you capitalize on the positives of your perfectionism while reducing the negatives? What actions or practices can you use to control your perfectionism? Should you ask others for help?

The above material was presented by presenters from Indonesia in an international webinar held by STEKOM University in collaboration with Universities from Pakistan, Malaysia, and various other parties.
