Auto manufacturers are constantly looking for innovative ways to increase production efficiency and provide a better experience for their customers. One modification technology that has been taken over by the automotive industry is the "Digital Twin". Just as a virtual showroom allows users to take a digital tour of vehicle features without having to be physically present, Digital Twin enables manufacturers to design and simulate vehicles in a completely virtual environment. This technology has helped product pre-commission and production arrangements to demonstrate the impact of design changes, process improvements and production efficiencies.
The Digital Twin is a concept that has taken center stage in the automotive industry in recent times. The principle behind this technology is to create an accurate digital representation of the vehicle to be built. The Digital Twin covers all the details and specifications of the vehicle, so manufacturers can test various scenarios and make design changes without having to spend a lot of money or time.
One of the most exciting aspects of the Digital Twin is its ability to allow manufacturers to perform comprehensive simulations before the vehicle is actually built. By using this technology, manufacturers can assess vehicle performance in various road conditions, redesign components that require repair, and even predict potential production problems before manifesting them physically. This significantly reduces the risks and costs associated with the vehicle development process.
In addition, the Digital Twin also supports production efficiency. With careful simulation, manufacturers can identify and address potential problems in production lines, reduce cycle time, and increase production output. In an increasingly competitive environment, the ability to bring products to market more quickly provides a significant advantage for automotive manufacturers.
Leading automotive manufacturers have embraced Digital Twin technology with great enthusiasm. They saw the potential to change the way the industry operates and provide a better experience for consumers. Manufacturers can also collaborate with engineers and design experts in virtual environments, opening up new opportunities for innovation and development of better products.
While there are many benefits offered by the Digital Twin, there are also challenges. The use of this technology requires a strong infrastructure and large processing capacity to handle very complex data. In addition, data security protection is also a major concern, as detailed digital twins can also be potential targets for security breaches and data theft.
Overall, the Digital Twin has opened the door to a new era in the automotive industry. By harnessing the power of this technology, manufacturers can increase production efficiency, reduce development costs, and provide superior and innovative products to consumers. It may still require some adjustments and improvements in implementation, but the potential offered by the Digital Twin cannot be ignored by the modern automotive industry.
The above material was delivered by a presenter from Ukraine in an international webinar held by STEKOM University in collaboration with Kuala Lumpur University from Malaysia and Ukraine. The presenter's name is Omelianenko Vitalii. He is a Doctor of Economics as well as Associate Professor and head of the center for technology projects at Summy Makarenko State University. The international webinar was held on May 23 2023 which was hosted by Ms. Novita. The media used in the international seminar is zoom and broadcast directly to Youtube. The event went very well and was quite lively, marked by the many participants who took part and the number of questions asked after the presenters finished delivering their presentations.
This international webinar activity is part of the implementation of STEKOM University's commitment to increase various international activities. This was done in order to realize the vision to become an international-class university. Various international activities carried out by STEKOM University continue from year to year. There are international activities that are sustainable and there are also some international activities that are not sustainable. All types of activities are accommodated internationally and regulated by the International department of STEKOM University.
