STEKOM University continues to be active in various international activities. This time, STEKOM University collaborated with Zaporizhzhia National University (Ukraine) and DMI-St John the Baptist University (Malawi). The collaboration is in the form of an international webinar with the topic “What to do and what not to do when building a digital culinary business”. This is a very interesting topic for academics who have a high interest in the culinary business. Both those who will run it when they are still academics or if they are no longer academics.

In this webinar we will learn material about how to build a digital business and how to make the culinary business that we create can grow and progress. In the webinar we will also be taught how to start a culinary business and some tips to beat competitors because competitors are natural obstacles that arise in various businesses.

A special part of the event was Alina Osaul's explanation of their project in collaboration with the National Tourism Organization of Ukraine. Alina Osaul also explained about cultural tourism in Ukraine. Very interesting explanations. From the explanation, there are many interesting things to visit in Ukraine.

NTO Ukraine is the National Tourism Organization of Ukraine which was established to implement the provisions of the Ukraine Sustainable Tourism Development Strategy. As a non-profit and non-governmental organization to comprehensively consolidate business, government and citizens to address various national problems of tourism in Ukraine.

There were four speakers in this event. However, before the event started, a speech was given by Dr. Joseph Teguh Santoso as Chancellor of STEKOM University. The event then continued with the first presentations were Natalia Venherska PhD (Professor of the Department of International Economics, Natural Resources and International Tourism Economics) and Alina Osaul (Master of International Business, Senior Lecturer in International Economics, Natural Resources and Department of International Tourism Economics) from the National University Zaporizhzhia (Ukraine).

The event then continued with a second presentation by Agness Mosanda (Head of Management Department) from DMI-St John the Baptist University (Malawi). The explanation is very interesting about the culinary business in Malawi. He explained what needs to be done in the culinary business including: determine the target market, see the good side of competitors, control finances and raw materials, meet basic needs, provide training to staff, market our business, invest in quality equipment, resource management humans, and others. The things that should not be done in the culinary business are: trusting that the customer is always right, ignoring social media, being afraid to try something, ignoring problems, and giving up. The explanations are very straightforward and practical so that the participants are very inspired.

The last presenter of this event was Mrs. Santi Widiastuti ST, MT. (Graphic Design Lecturer) from STEKOM University. According to Ibu Santi, what needs to be done in the culinary business is to determine the type of business, calculate the capital requirement, determine the location, determine the taste of the menu, and determine the supplier. In her explanation, Ibu Santi gave an example of a real business she runs, namely “djoyo” chicken and bebe.

At the international webinar, each speaker delivered material for three hours and continued with a question and answer session (Question and Answer) with all students from STEKOM University, Zaporizhzhia National University and DMI-St John the Baptist University. At the end of each material presented by the speaker, there is always a question and answer session. This shows that the enthusiasm of the participants was very high at the event.
