Indonesian academics explain about Pandawa beach tourism in Bali in an international webinar. Pandawa Beach is one of the tourist areas in the South Kuta area, Badung Regency, Bali. This beach is located behind the hills and is often referred to as the Secret Beach. Around this beach there are two very large cliffs which on one side are carved five Pandawa and Kunti statues. The six statues sequentially (from the highest position) are given the spellings of Dewi Kunti, Dharma Wangsa, Bima, Arjuna, Nakula and Sadewa.

In addition to tourism and water sports purposes, this beach is also used for seaweed cultivation because the contours of the beach are sloping and the waves don't reach the shoreline. Quite a lot of tourists do paragliding from Timbis Hill to Pandawa Beach. This beach area is also often used as a shooting location for FTV soap operas.

Due to the increasing interest of tourists to visit Pandawa Beach, this beach has undergone changes and improvements in facilities and infrastructure that are very adequate. And it is hoped that in the future Pandawa Beach will become one of the best beach choices on the island of Bali, which is parallel to beaches that are already well-known, such as Kuta Beach or Sanur Beach.

Pandawa Beach has a stunning panorama with a calm and serene atmosphere. Entering the beach area, we will be amazed by the beautiful panorama of the high cliffs that flank the 1.5 km long road. When we pass through the new access to Pandawa Beach, we will be treated to a stunning view of the white sand beach with the Indian Ocean right in front of it. On the way down to the beach, we will find several caves decorated with beautiful white stone statues taking inspiration from the Five Pandavas (the 5 older brothers from the Mahabaratha era). The beautiful statues are coveted with Balinese ornaments and are one of the spots for taking pictures when visiting this tourist spot. The name Pandawa Beach is taken from the names of 5 brothers in the Mahabaratha era which consisted of Yudistira, Bima, Arjuna, Sahadewa and Nakula. This story has inspired the life of the Balinese Hindu community which reflects their culture.

Apart from that, there is also an interesting recreational activity around this area which is called paragliding. If the weather is clear and the wind is strong enough, you can see or try this activity right away. The initial location of this activity was actually not on Pandawa Beach, but on Timbis Hill which is not too far from this beach. Usually this paragliding activity is carried out in the afternoon or evening, if the weather is favorable. When you do paragliding, you will be able to see the true beauty of Pandawa Beach from a height.
