Green engineering besides having many advantages, but also has many limitations. The following are some of the limitations that exist in green engineering:

- Requires high initial costs

Environmentally friendly technology is a concept or method to achieve certain goals, which in practice refers to environmental insights or pays attention to the rules of the surrounding environment. This understanding has inspired the birth of various applied technologies, which are both safe and friendly to living things on Earth or to the surrounding natural environment.

It must be admitted that to be able to obtain this technology requires quite expensive costs when compared to buying equipment with conventional technology. This condition is certainly a challenge for developers to create technologies that are environmentally friendly but also affordable (cheap), especially at the start of the investment.

- Low energy efficiency

An ideal technology should have an effective and efficient process and emit minimal waste that can reduce and prevent environmental pollution or damage. Environmentally friendly technology must meet regulatory requirements. In addition to being efficient in the use of resources, be it water, energy, use of raw materials, and chemicals.

An example of green engineering in the field of biogas is experiencing problems in terms of efficiency. Biogas is a type of alternative fuel that has been used as fuel for household needs in Indonesia. Biogas is obtained from the fermentation process of organic matter by anaerobic bacteria (bacteria that live in an environment without oxygen). The bacteria convert organic matter into methane gas by 75 percent and other gases such as carbon dioxide, hydrogen and hydrogen sulfide. The use of environmentally friendly materials to make biogas actually has a low efficiency.

Another example of empowering green engineering which also suffers from low efficiency problems is biofuels. One of the true statements about biofuels is the technology of providing alternative energy by using renewable natural resources. Biofuels come from organic materials, such as plants. There are two types of biofuels, in the form of ethanol and biodiesel. Ethanol is a type of alcohol that can be made by fermenting carbohydrates. While biodiesel is a natural fuel that is usually obtained from vegetable fats. Both of them have low efficiency in the use of raw materials, so that until now the green industry in this field has not developed well.

The STEKOM University international webinar presenter who delivered the material was Kefale Kebie Bishaw who has an M.Sc academic degree in Structural Engineering. He is also a lecturer and researcher at Debre Tabor University which is located in the city of Debre Tabor, Country of Ethiopia. STEKOM University has collaborated with the University several times. This time the international activity being held was an international webinar entitled "Advantage of Green Engineering".

The title of the presentation delivered by Mr. Kefale was "Advantage of Green Engineering / Technology". At the beginning of his presentation, Mr. Kefale explained the outline of his presentation. The outline presented by Mr. Kefale included the following points:
- What is Green Engineering?
- Green Engineering Category,
- Green Engineering Driving Factors,
- Benefits and Some Limitations,
- Conclusions and recommendations.

The webinar activity is part of the implementation of STEKOM University's commitment to increase various international activities in order to realize the vision to become an international-class university. Various international activities carried out by STEKOM University continue from year to year. There are international activities that are sustainable and there are also some international activities that are not sustainable. All types of international activities are accommodated and regulated by the International department of STEKOM University.
