Another green engineered subject area that is no less important than any other is green energy. Green energy is any type of energy produced from natural resources, such as sunlight, wind or air. It often comes from renewable energy sources although there are some differences between renewable and green energy, which we will discuss below. The key to these energy resources is that they do not damage the environment through factors such as the preservation of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.
As an energy source, green energy often comes from renewable energy technologies such as solar energy, wind power, geothermal energy, biomass, and hydropower. Each of these technologies works in a different way, whether by drawing power from the sun, such as solar panels, or using wind turbines or airflow to generate energy.
To be considered green energy, the resource cannot produce pollution, such as is found in fossil fuels. This means that not all sources used by the renewable energy industry are green. For example, a power plant that burns organic matter from a sustainable forest may be renewable, but not necessarily environmentally friendly, because of the CO2 that is produced from the combustion process itself.
Green energy sources are usually replenished naturally, in contrast to fossil fuel sources such as natural gas or coal, which take millions of years to develop. Green sources also often avoid mining or drilling operations that can damage ecosystems.
Green energy is important for the environment because it replaces the negative effects of fossil fuels with more environmentally friendly alternatives. Derived from natural resources, green energy is also often renewable and clean, meaning it emits no or few greenhouse gases and is often readily available.
Even when the full life cycle of green energy sources is approved, they release far less greenhouse gas than fossil fuels, as well as little or lower levels of air pollutants. This is not only good for the planet but better for the health of the people and animals that have to breathe the air.
Green energy can also result in stable energy prices because this source is often locally produced and unaffected by geopolitical crises, disrupted prices, or supply disruptions. The economic benefits also include the creation of jobs in constructing facilities which often serve the communities where the workers are concerned. Renewable energy created 11 million jobs worldwide in 2018, and this number will continue to grow as we strive to meet targets such as net zero.
Due to the local nature of energy production through sources such as solar and wind power, energy infrastructure is more flexible and less dependent on such sources that can cause disruption and less resilient to weather-related climate change.
Green energy is also a low cost solution to energy needs in many parts of the world. This will only increase as costs continue to fall, further increasing the accessibility of green energy, especially in developing countries.
The STEKOM University international webinar presenter who delivered the material was Kefale Kebie Bishaw who has an M.Sc academic degree in Structural Engineering. He is also a lecturer and researcher at Debre Tabor University which is located in the city of Debre Tabor, Country of Ethiopia. STEKOM University has collaborated with the University several times. This time the international activity being held was an international webinar entitled "Advantage of Green Engineering".
The title of the presentation delivered by Mr. Kefale was "Advantage of Green Engineering / Technology". At the beginning of his presentation, Mr. Kefale explained the outline of his presentation. The outline presented by Mr. Kefale included the following points:

- Green Engineering Push Factor Pen,
- Benefits and Some Limitations,
- Conclusions and recommendations.
The webinar activity is part of the implementation of STEKOM University's commitment to increase various international activities in order to realize the vision to become an international-class university. Various international activities carried out by STEKOM University continue from year to year. There are international activities that are sustainable and there are also some international activities that are not sustainable. All types of activities are accommodated internationally and regulated by the International department of STEKOM University.
