A communications system or communications system is a collection of individual telecommunications networks, transmission systems, relay stations, tributary stations, and terminal equipment usually capable of interconnection and interoperability to form an integrated whole. The components of a communication system serve a common purpose, are technically compatible, use common procedures, respond to controls, and operate in unity.
Telecommunications is a method of communication (for example, for sports broadcasting, mass media, journalism, etc.). Communication is the act of conveying the intended meaning from one entity or group to another through the use of mutually understood semiotic signs and rules.
An optical communication system is any form of telecommunication that uses light as the transmission medium. The equipment consists of a transmitter, which encodes the message into an optical signal, a communication channel, which carries the signal to its destination, and a receiver, which reproduces the message from the received optical signal. Fiber optic communication systems transmit information from one place to another by sending light through optical fibers. Light forms a carrier signal which is modulated to carry information.
A radio communication system consists of several communication subsystems that provide exterior communication capabilities. A radiocommunication system consists of transmitting conductors in which electrical oscillations or currents are produced and which are arranged to cause said currents or oscillations to be propagated through a medium of free space from one point to another. other distances from it and the receiving conductor at that distant point is adapted to be excited by oscillations or current propagated from the transmitter.
Power line communication systems operate by impressing modulated carrier signals on power lines. Different types of power line communications use different frequency bands, depending on the signal transmission characteristics of the power cables used. Because power cabling systems were originally intended for the transmission of AC power, power cabling circuits have only a limited ability to carry higher frequencies. The propagation problem is a limiting factor for any type of power line communication.
A tactical communication system is a communication system that (a) is used in, or in direct support of, tactical forces (b) is designed to meet the requirements of changing tactical situations and various environmental conditions, (c) provides secure communications, such as voice, data and video , between mobile users to facilitate command and control within, and to support, tactical troops, and (d) typically require very short deployment times, typically hours, to meet frequent relocation requirements.
An emergency communication system is any system (usually computer-based) that is set up for the primary purpose of supporting two-way communication of emergency messages between individuals and groups of individuals. These systems are generally designed to integrate message cross-communication between various communication technologies.
An automated call distributor (ACD) is a communications system that automatically queues, assigns, and connects callers to handlers. It is often used in customer service (such as for product or service complaints), telephone ordering (such as at a ticket office), or coordination services (such as at air traffic control).
A Voice Communications Control System (VCCS) is essentially an ACD with characteristics that make it more adapted for use in critical situations (no need to wait for dial tones, or long recordings of announcements, radio and telephone lines are equally easy to connect, individual lines are immediately accessible , etc. ..)
The above material was presented by a presenter from Malaysia in an international webinar held by STEKOM University in collaboration with Universities from Pakistan, Malaysia, and various other parties. The name of the presenter is Dr. Farahida Mohd who is an assistant professor at a University in Malaysia.
This international webinar activity is part of the implementation of STEKOM University's commitment to increase various international activities. This was done in order to realize the vision to become an international-class university. Various international activities carried out by STEKOM University continue from year to year. There are international activities that are sustainable and there are also some international activities that are not sustainable. All types of international activities are accommodated and regulated by the International department of STEKOM University.
