You are definitely familiar with public speaking, but there are also people who don't know it. So what is public speaking? Public speaking is an activity of speaking in public or in front of many people with a language style that is clear and easy to understand. Public speaking can also be said to be a skill that is very easy for everyone to learn. Therefore everyone is very important to have this skill. Because this ability is not only important in the world of work but is very useful in all aspects related to leadership.


Public speaking is not only referred to as talking in front of many people, but public speaking is also a conversation or conversation between one person and another. So it can be concluded that public speaking is a way to communicate clearly to your audience.

Given the importance of public speaking, as explained above, STEKOM University held an international webinar that discussed the ins and outs of public speaking. The webinar was held on Wednesday (23/3/2022) which was organized by Stekom University in collaboration with PTIC, Stie Stekom, Autonomous University, and Aala-Too International University with the title "The Importance Of Public Speaking For Businessman".


In the webinar, Wibi Ardi Alvianto S.Pd., M.pd as a Lecturer from the Graphic Design Department of Stekom University said that 75% of adults are afraid to speak in public, that's a sign you don't feel that you're the only one who difficulty in doing so. Why do things that can be said to be easy become difficult? The answer is because of nervousness. Nervousness is the main symptom in someone when they are going to present something or voice their opinion in front of many people.


This nervous feeling will continue to arise if you don't want to try it, even though public speaking will be very important for you especially when you run a business, and the way for your business to run smoothly is when you are able to communicate well with other people, and that's where you will have very big opportunity.

So how do you attract an audience? The trick is that you can tell the story as interestingly as possible where when you speak the audience will only focus and focus their hearing on what you have to say. Meanwhile, ignore what people perceive us as when we speak.
