STEKOM
University, Indonesia - The continuation of the international seminar
entitled "How AI Could Save (Not Destroy) Education" has
arrived at the second session. The second speaker, Dr. Attia Aman
Ullah from UniMAP, Malaysia, brought a fresh perspective on how
artificial intelligence (AI) can be applied in various aspects of
education, including technology utilization in classrooms, staff
management, assessment, transportation maintenance, and
cybersecurity.
Artificial
Intelligence Tools in Education
In his
presentation, Dr. Attia Aman Ullah explained the various ways in
which artificial intelligence technology can have a positive impact
on education. He began with a discussion of AI tools that can help in
maximizing the learning and teaching experience. The use of AI in
assessment, staff scheduling, transportation management, and
cybersecurity and management are concrete steps that can improve
educational efficiency.
AI Applications in the Classroom:
Playful Learning and Management
Dr. Attia Aman Ullah also
highlighted how gamified learning can increase student engagement in
learning. The use of AI in creating engaging learning experiences and
interacting in innovative ways can improve student understanding and
motivation.
Also, in management, the use of AI can ease staff
scheduling and organization in administrative aspects, which will
indirectly have a positive impact on the effectiveness of the
education system.
Cybersecurity
and Management in Education
In the digital
era, cybersecurity is crucial. Dr. Attia Aman Ullah explained how AI
can be leveraged to manage and mitigate cybersecurity risks in
educational institutions. This involves threat detection, monitoring,
and more responsive management of potential cyber threats.
The Role of AI
in Higher Education and Critical Thinking
Furthermore, Dr. Attia
Aman Ullah discussed the role of artificial intelligence in higher
education. He highlighted how AI technology can help students and
researchers in supporting more efficient information retrieval and
research processes. With a critical approach to the information
found, these technologies can advance academic quality.
The Role
of Teachers and Students in the Context of AI
Apart from being a
learning tool, AI can also act as a smart teacher and student. It can
serve as a personal teacher that blends data to provide personalized
learning that suits the student's needs. On the other hand, AI can
also be a "student" that learns from interactions with
humans.
The Role of
Policy Advisor
Dr. Attia Aman
Ullah concluded his talk by highlighting the role of AI as an advisor
in education policy making. By analyzing data and trends, this
technology can provide valuable insights in making more effective
education policy decisions.
In this session, the seminar
participants got a comprehensive view of how AI technology can shape
the future of education. With various applications explained by Dr.
Attia Aman Ullah, AI has great potential to improve efficiency,
engagement, and safety in education. The next session will cover the
material from the next speaker, Edy Jogatama Purhita M.Ds from
STEKOM, Indonesia.
