    The seminar entitled "Think Fast, Talk Smart: Communication Techniques for Public Speaking" organized by STEKOM University on 18 September 2023 was a very informative and useful event for the participants. The seminar featured a number of expert speakers from various countries, discussing various aspects related to public speaking. The fourth part of the seminar was presented by Aftuqa Sholikatur Rohmania, M.M, Head of the Management Department at STEKOM, Indonesia.

    In her presentation, Aftuqa Sholikatur Rohmania discussed a number of important points related to effective communication techniques in public speaking. Here are some of the main points from her presentation:

    1.    The Importance of Public Speaking
    o Aftuqa started her presentation by explaining the importance of public speaking. Public speaking is the process of speaking to a group of people with the purpose of informing, influencing or entertaining the audience.
    2.    Purpose of Presentation
    o The purpose of a presentation can vary from informing, motivating, communicating, to educating. Every presentation should have a clear purpose.
    3.    Essential Components of a Presentation
    o Aftuqa elaborated that an effective presentation involves four main components: the situation, the audience, the speaker, and the presentation itself. All these components must be well prepared before making a presentation.
    4.    Presentation Preparation
    o Presentation preparation includes understanding the topic to be covered, identifying the audience, and organizing the material logically. In addition, preparation also includes selecting visual aids if needed.
    5.    Effective Delivery Techniques
    o In her presentation, Aftuqa also explained some important delivery techniques, such as the use of a clear voice, strong eye contact, supportive body language, and effective use of visual aids.
    6.    Conclusion and Follow-up
    o Every presentation should end with a strong conclusion and an evocative follow-up with the audience. This helps to leave a positive impression among listeners.

    Apart from Aftuqa Sholikatur Rohmania's presentation, the seminar also featured expert speakers from various countries, such as Sheena from HELP Malaysia, Adgezal Mammadov from WCU Azerbaijan, and Liashenko Rostyslav PhD from CUSU Ukraine. The seminar was enlivened by MC Novita from International Affairs STEKOM University and started with opening remarks from Dr. Joseph Teguh Santoso, Rector of STEKOM University.

    The "Think Fast, Talk Smart" seminar was a valuable opportunity for participants to understand effective communication techniques in public speaking. By doing so, participants are expected to develop their speaking skills and become more confident and effective speakers in various situations.
