The University of Computer Science and Technology (Universitas
STEKOM) holds an Inbound Visiting Lecture program, which is an
activity to invite quality academics to provide material to STEKOM
University students online on August 3-5, 2021. During these 3 days,
students will receive material directly from lecturers from Comsats.
University Islamabad in Pakistan.
Dr. Hamid Masud,PhD
delivered the material "HRM: Significance and Challenges in the
current pandemic situation" on August 3rd. HRM which stands for
“Human Resource Management†is an important and very interesting
topic in modern management and business. When a company has good
Human Resource Management or HRM, employees can be a valuable asset
to the company. With a good HRM, companies will get various benefits
that may not be immediately visible, but the impact can be long term.
Here are some of the benefits.
1. Help achieve the
targets set by the company
2. Proper employee planning, so
as to get the desired results rather than not working optimally.
3. Time efficiency, so that the work is completed faster without
the need for additional human resources.
4. Facilitate the
delegation of tasks from managers to subordinates so that each
employee can do their job better.
5. Provide briefing to
employees according to their interests and skills to prepare them for
the next career level.
The next lecture was given
by M.Mudassir Feroz, MS from the Computer Science department on the
2nd day of August 4th who delivered "Computer Security and
challenges". In the cyber world in industry 4.0, all networks
within the company will be connected via routers. In this way,
industry 4.0 players need to face cyber threats, which make
businesses the target of increasing cybercrimes. Therefore, we must
understand about the types of computer technology threats, potential
attacks that may occur, the weaknesses that exist in the system that
we are building. After we understand the threat to computer
technology then we also need to learn how to handle and anticipate
it.
The last day was filled by Shahkar Ullah Khan, MBA who
delivered the material "Marketing and its changing dynamics".
With the advent of the internet and e-commerce, there has been a
paradigm shift in sales and marketing functions around the world.
Previously all organizations spent a lot of money on ATL & BTL in
terms of marketing, but now digital world is taking a big share of
this marketing budget in all sectors around the world. The dynamics
of digital marketing have changed in recent decades, and this rapid
progress without looking back is very unlikely to slow down. We are
entering a digital marketing landscape that includes SEO, SEM, social
media, content marketing, is undergoing changes. Many new digital
marketing trends and strategies are evolving in today's high-tech,
Internet-connected era, which means that businesses need to use them
to succeed in their endeavors because what worked for you last year
may not work (too) this year.
Participants' responses to
the material presented by Shahkar Ullah Khan, MBA were very
enthusiastic. "What happened next?" asked Shahkar Ullah
Khan after explaining the history of marketing development from year
to year. Students take turns giving answers via text messages
provided or directly answering online. The lecture method is fun, you
can get knowledge from interesting foreign lecturers, said Riska, one
of the students from the Computer and Business faculty. Hopefully
there will be more lectures on this model, I hope.
The
inbound visiting lecture event ran smoothly for 3 consecutive days,
and was able to build interaction with students, so the duration of
90 minutes felt very short. The benefit of this activity is also to
increase the competitiveness of the University through cooperation
and partnerships with universities abroad.
